Beginners Woodworking Weekend - 2 Days

Course description

This is a beginner’s woodworking class for anyone that is not quite ready to commit to one of our 5 day courses or intensive programs. The primary aim of this class is to show you that woodworking is fun and rewarding. We will show you how to use various hand tools and common woodworking machines with the aim of giving you the confidence to attempt simple projects for yourself. We will briefly cover some information about wood and trees that is essential to the craft before putting tools in your hand and getting you to make a simple hardwood cutting board that you can take home. Some people who take this course will just be happy that they got to spend a fun weekend learning about a fascinating and age old craft. Others will be bitten by the bug and will want to take their education further. We welcome both. Who is this course for? This course is aimed at those wanting to try out woodworking for the first time.
